Silva back in 2007

Well, it's official: The Twins picked up Carlos Silva's $4.35 million option for next year. With Liriano's status in serious question for next year and Radke's retirement, it looks like the Twins figured $4M and change was a fair price to pay for rotation depth. Is it really depth, though, if the sinkerballer turned meatballer version shows up again in 2007? What do you guys think, smart move? Or were there better pitchers available for comparable money?

This is another guy I adore, Carlos Silva. He had an off year, but I believe in second chances. Go Carlisto!!!!!

I wasn't a big fan of the move, but I don't think it was awful. At the very least, Silva's been durable, and the Twins may need that next year.

I think this is a move that the Twins needed to make. Now with Liriano out, thew twins will need to pick up a decent starting pitcher in the FA market.

Great Site by the way!
